Parts of the Design

I utilized old sceintific drawings of neurons as a basis for the designs i made around the body. the neurons are brain cells and it was another nod/ allusion to the brain and mind.

Solitude Dyptich

This group pf Prints were created to discuss the different aspects of solitude. The heartbreaking loneliness one can feel as well as the euphoric excitement that you can experience when you are alone.

The usage of the brain diagram was to refrence the part of the brain where loneliness is processed. I added a figure to this part of the image to visually show the concept of being in your head.

a very vivid red was used in the printing of the piece because i wanted to use minimal color and I felt that red being one of the most intense colors would emphasize the intense feelings of lonliness

Scripture

Parts of the Design

I used dip pens to make a halo for the figure to reference the radiating halo that is sometimes utilized in christian art. The halo has been used as an Iconographic symbol to represent holiness.

Detail of Jan Van Eyck’ s Ghent Altarpiece, Virgin Mary Panel 1420-1432

This piece was created during covid when me and my friends would do weekly drawing challenges and decide on different prompts for making artwork. The prompt for this piece was scripture and so I made this illustration of an angel within a broken mirror.

The prompt was all about scripture which has a heavy religious context but I wanted to also reference writing as well and so on the bandages of the character there is writing that says “ The end is only s beginning”

This Project was a book that I made out of a photo series I created where I photographed my friend as they were developing and experimenting with miming and crafting their persona. I later turned these photographs into a small art book that I created, printed, and bound myself.
